Week of November 27-December 1, 2017

This week we started off normal. Monday: Some 6th-graders played Hot Lava Monster we also did Advent practice. That was fun. Tuesday: A few 6th-graders went to the art room at recess and helped the art teacher organize her classroom. Wednesday: We went to a play called A Civil War Christmas. It was about how people treated slaves and what they did when the war was going on, and how it affected lots of people. Thursday: We had Thankful Thursday and it was a normal day. We didn’t do anything but worked on classwork. Friday:  It was another normal day, but we watch a movie called The Prince of Egypt.

At the play put on by Taproot Theater, they had really good actors. The theater was small and cozy. There was a coffee shop right next to the theater. The play was about a slave girl and her mom trying to flee to the north during the Civil War. The mom has to leave her child because the mom can’t get into the North, but the child travels north hidden in a wagon. Overall, the play was really good.
